Into the Belly of the Beast: How to Get Into and Pitch Top Tier VCs

Matt Shoemake raised $57M from Silicon Valley Venture Capitalists. He shows you how you can too.

Serial entrepreneur Dr. Matthew Shoemake is the founder and CEO of Wham, which is building a revolutionary video product for the home consumer market.

He is the founder of WiQuest Communications where he raised $57M from Tier 1 Venture Capitalists. WiQuest is a distributor of ultrawideband computer chips for high-speed wireless connections with customers that include Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, Belkin and D-Link. Prior to WiQuest he was employee #4 at Alantro Communications, Inc., which was acquired by Texas Instruments for $300M.

Dr. Shoemake is co-inventor of PBCC, the basis for the IEEE 802.11b+ standard. He chaired the IEEE 802.11g standard, which specifies 54 Mbps Wi-Fi. He is a member of the IEEE and serves on the Advisory Board for the Texas A&M University Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Dr. Shoemake holds B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Cornell University.
